It’s always a bit disappointing to learn that a certain type of food is prohibited, especially if you or a kosher-following friend have been looking forward to trying some caviar. There are so many delicacies to enjoy that are totally kosher-friendly, including many finfish roe products (no shellfish, of course). WebKosher and Halal describe what is “fit and proper” to eat for two groups of people, Jews and Muslims. Although these terms are used to describe a wide array of foods and beverages that are acceptable to eat, we will concentrate on meat.
