WebCuriosity is a car-sized unmanned rover designed to explore and examine the Gale crater on Mars. Launched on 26 November 2011 from Cape Canaveral, Curiosity touched down on Mars on 6 August 2012 for the start of its two year mission which was subsequently extended indefinitely. WebIt was designed as a technology demonstration of a new way to deliver an instrumented lander and the first-ever robotic rover to the surface of the red planet. Pathfinder not only accomplished this goal but also returned an unprecedented amount of data and outlived its primary design life.
