WebTow bars are used for pulling another vehicle, a trailer, or an RV. It’s a device that is attached to a vehicle’s frame to form half of a tow hitch system, and the other end can be used to pull a variety of loads. You can use a tow bar setup to pull another vehicle, and they are used in this way for recovery of disabled vehicles. WebIt has two separate 12 V alternators and batteries wired in series, only the glow plug system, injection pump, the starter, and the jumper cable jack are wired to the 24 V terminals. everything else in the truck runs on 12 V. The glow plugs are actually 12 V glow plugs with a resistor pack on the firewall to drop the 24 V down to 12 V.

These trucks are 22 or so years old. In those days 7k was considered a hefty towed amount and now half tons tow more than that. Remember that not just the engine is at play here. The chassis wasn't designed/built to tow that much and neither were the brakes.

If you upgrade to a Reese or Draw-Tight or similar receiver type hitch you can increase the towing capacity.
